Over three days, you'll trek through otherworldly landscapes, spot wildlife found nowhere else, sleep under stars that feel close enough to touch, and stand at the summit—wind in your face, heart pounding, knowing this is what adventure feels like.

Your adventure begins in Gondar. The drive to Debark takes about 2 hours through scenic highlands, where the mountains gradually reveal themselves—first as distant blue shapes, then as towering peaks. At the park headquarters, you'll complete permits and meet your full support crew: guide, scout, cook, and the team that will make this journey unforgettable.
Continuing to Sankaber at 3,200 meters, you'll embark on a short acclimatization hike of 2-3 hours. The views are breathtaking from the start—dramatic escarpments drop thousands of meters into valleys below, and rugged peaks stretch toward the horizon. You're standing on the Roof of Africa.
Return to camp for a hearty dinner under the stars. The cool mountain air sharpens your senses as you settle into your first night camping in the highlands.
After breakfast, the main trek begins—a 5-6 hour hike through the heart of the Simien Mountains, covering approximately 13 kilometers. Every step reveals a new wonder.
Keep your eyes open for Gelada baboons grazing on the high-altitude grasslands. These unique primates, with their distinctive red chest patches, are often seen in large troops—an unforgettable wildlife encounter. You may also spot Klippspringers and, with exceptional luck, the rare Ethiopian wolf.
Along the trail, you'll stop at Genbar Falls, a thundering waterfall plunging into the gorge below—a perfect spot to rest, take photos, and soak in the vastness of the landscape.
Arriving at Geech Campsite (3,600 meters), you have the option to climb Mount Kedadit for sunset. The reward is unforgettable—the peaks glowing gold, pink, and orange as the sun dips below the horizon. Return to camp for a well-earned dinner beneath a canopy of stars.
A final walk through the mountains—2-3 hours of descent from Geech to Chenek. This is your last chance to breathe the cold, clean air, spot Gelada baboons grazing in the distance, and take in the vast skies that have been your companion for three days.
At Chenek, you'll share a farewell lunch with your crew. These are the people who have made this journey possible—their warmth, expertise, and care have been the heart of your experience. Say your goodbyes and board your vehicle for the 3-4 hour drive back to Gondar.
